Blank Labels

The unsung heroes of modern production

Unprinted labels, also known as blank labels or labels for in-house printing, form the backbone of modern labelling systems and industrial workflows. Supplied blank on rolls or fanfolded in boxes, they are ready for you to print with up-to-date, variable data directly at your own premises.

These labels are used when information needs to be printed at the point of labelling. With the right label material and printing technology, you can easily print text, barcodes, 2D codes, product codes, batch numbers, serial numbers and other variable information. They can be applied to products, sacks, cartons, pallets, trays and other packaging that requires clear identification and information.

A wide range of applications

Otryckta etiketter används i många olika verksamheter och produktionsflöden. Exempel på användningsområden är:

Unprinted labels are used across many industries and production processes. Typical applications include:

Food and drink

For labelling trays, cartons, crates and other secondary and transport packaging. Labels can carry details such as weight, contents, product codes, batch numbers, quantities and best-before dates, helping goods to be correctly identified and handled throughout the distribution chain, from production to the shop floor.

Industry and manufacturing

For identifying and tracing products, components and production batches. Applications include parts during manufacture, finished products, packaging and goods destined for storage or delivery to customers.

Warehousing, logistics and e-commerce

For labelling storage locations, shelves, pallets, cartons, parcels and freight. Labels carry barcodes, product codes, picking information, addresses, order numbers and tracking details, supporting operations from storage and order picking through to transport and delivery.

Chemicals

For labelling jerrycans, drums, containers, pallets and other chemical products. The right combination of material and adhesive can provide resistance to chemicals, moisture, temperature changes, abrasion and other demanding conditions.

Timber, paper and pulp

For labelling logs, timber, paper reels, packaging and other products in the forestry and paper industries. Large labels can be used on paper reels, for example, while smaller labels identify timber and individual products.

How do unprinted labels work?

When choosing a blank label, the printing technology plays a key role in the durability, readability and overall cost of the finished print.

Direct thermal (DT)

Direct thermal printing uses heat-sensitive paper that reacts directly to heat from the printhead. With no ribbon or ink required, it is a highly cost-effective solution for labelling packaging intended for shorter-term use.

Thermal transfer (TT)

Thermal transfer printing uses a wax, resin or wax/resin ribbon to transfer the print onto the label using heat. With the right combination of ribbon and label material, it produces durable print that can withstand abrasion, chemicals, moisture and extreme heat or cold. It is ideal for applications that need longer-lasting identification.

We offer white unprinted labels suitable for leading industrial Print & Apply systems from manufacturers such as Logopak, Novexx Solutions, Evolabel, Domino, Videojet and CAB, as well as smaller label printers from Zebra, Honeywell, Toshiba TEC, TSC and SATO.
